The US redeployed the M-SHORAD System to Eastern Europe

FOA News – Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment (5-4 ADA), part of the US 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command headquartered in Germany, has begun redeploying the Defense System. mobile short-range air carrier (M-SHORAD) to Eastern Europe.

The M-SHORAD Increment 1 system represents a significant advancement in the U.S. military’s air defense capabilities, specifically designed to address the airborne threats faced on today’s battlefields. M-SHORAD’s weapon configuration is particularly notable for its versatility and comprehensive threat response capabilities.

This system is equipped with two AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire missiles, designed to accurately attack ground targets. And four FIM-92 Stinger missiles in one launcher are configured by Raytheon to counter air threats.

In addition, the installation of a 30 mm XM914 automatic cannon and a 7.62 mm M-240 machine gun gives M-SHORAD many response options against both air and ground targets. This multi-purpose unmanned turret, capable of addressing a wide range of battlefield threats, emphasizes the strategic value of the system for mobile units.
