At a meeting with weapons manufacturers, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said the order to expand artillery production was successful much earlier than planned and praised workers for working around the clock. “After the start of operation of the new facilities, the actual production volume increased by almost 2.5 times,” Minister Shoigu said.
According to Mr. Shoigu, the production volume of components for artillery also increased nearly 22 times. Russia mainly fires 152 mm and 122 mm caliber artillery shells. He revealed that the Russian military set more ambitious goals this year but did not provide further details.
Russia’s superiority in artillery production is a factor that could help determine developments in Ukraine, which mainly uses artillery and drones.
